Cycling in the Voer region is based on the popular cycle junction system. Simply follow the blue rectangular signs from junction to junction to create your own route. Convenient and flexible. The Voeren network also connects seamlessly with those of Belgian and Dutch Limburg, the province of Liège, and even the East Cantons. One network, dozens of possibilities.
One of the unique advantages of the Voer region is its location at the border triangle. Thanks to smart route planning, you can easily cycle through Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany in a single day. Imagine: morning coffee in Teuven, lunch in Gulpen, and a beer to finish off the day in Aachen.
The Voer region is not flat terrain. On the contrary: the landscape undulates, dips, climbs, and winds its way through a green patchwork of meadows, orchards, forests, and historic villages.
Did you know?: The six most challenging bike climbs in Limburg are located here in the Voerstreek region. So if you’re cycling east, you can expect some tough climbs.
But don’t panic, with an electric bike even the steepest slopes become a Sunday stroll. And if you really want to take it easy, you can let yourself be carried along the Meuse towards Eijsden. The ferry will take you across in no time – a wonderful, flat trip without breaking a sweat.
Below are three mapped routes for different types of cyclists, from leisurely riders to seasoned pedallers.

This route connects the six distinctive villages of the region and offers a varied route with colorful landscapes, chapels, churches, and cozy terraces. Starting point: Sint-Martens-Voeren
Highlights: Gulpdal, Gulpen, trout farm, panoramic terrace
This cross-border route takes you along the Gulp to Gulpen-Wittem in the Netherlands, past a military cemetery in Margraten and via Sint-Martens-Voeren to the impressive Commanderie van Sint-Pieters-Voeren. Finish your ride with a drink in the highest brasserie in Flanders. The Rode Bos, with a view that will leave you speechless.
For those who prefer off-road cycling, there is the brand new Euregio MTB network. These routes take you through forests, orchards, and along sunken roads, with challenging climbs and technical descents. Both novice and experienced mountain bikers will find something to suit them here. Don’t forget your mud tires—and a good dose of courage.
